What is Reiki?

Reiki is a relaxation technique that can help reduce stress, fatigue, physical pain, and many other ailments and “dis-eases” of the body.

Reiki is given by a Reiki practitioner that channels Universal Energy through the palms of their hands into the recipient’s body. Reiki is done hands off, and can also be done distantly.

Reiki can be given as a session in-person or distantly and is just as effective both ways. Reiki attunements are also available distantly or in person. Some forms of Reiki require in person classes, but most do not. Reiki is complementary to any Western medical treatment you may be receiving. It works harmoniously with Western Medicine but should never take the place of a licensed medical professional.

Reiki was formulated by a Japanese man name Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s. Its use has spread throughout the entire world – allowing Reiki practitioners throughout the world to channel and send energy to others. Reiki can not do harm, it is simply energy that is already within us. The Reiki practitioner channels it into the recipient.

Some people look at Reiki as a form of prayer but it is not. Reiki is not a religion and holds no doctrine or dogma with it. A Reiki practitioner simply opens themselves up as a channel for Reiki to flow through them and to a person, place, situation etc. A Reiki teacher performs what is called an attunement giving and during that attunement the Reiki Master/Teacher opens channels in the students energy field allowing that student to channel Reiki energy and therefore become a Reiki practitioner.
